National Conference

Work is now underway to organize CAF-FCA’s 2018 National Apprenticeship Conference. Mark the date and plan to join us June 10-12, 2018 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montréal, QC.  Delegate registration will open in January but, in the meantime, we invite you to consider other opportunities to get involved.

Call for Presenters

We invite interested speakers to submit a presentation abstract for the conference, which will bring Canada’s apprenticeship community together to highlight promising practices and innovative solutions in apprenticeship training. More than 500 delegates are expected to participate over three days.

The 2018 conference will highlight initiatives, programs and strategies that contribute to Canada’s world-class apprenticeship system. This requires an understanding of innovative approaches to training, workplace and mentoring initiatives, and the engagement of under-represented groups and youth. We invite members of the apprenticeship community to consider sharing their ideas, research or innovative approaches that stand to contribute to our ongoing conversation about apprenticeship as the best way to develop a highly skilled trades workforce.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 20, 2017.  To learn more and to download the submission form click here.

Call for Partners & Exhibitors

Apprenticeship stakeholders know that talent is an important competitive advantage.  Attracting quality candidates and return on training investment must be balanced with current workplace trends and challenges.  Focusing on innovative, on-the-ground approaches, the 2018 conference revolves around how traditional models and methods are evolving, what is working and what can be done differently to strengthen apprenticeship programs across the country.

Event Partnership
Conference partners are essential to our event’s success and we ensure they’re highly visible throughout the conference!  There are a number of opportunities available to showcase your organization and its commitment to apprenticeship training in Canada.  The Call for Partners is available here.  Top level partnerships are taken up quickly.  To discuss any of these opportunities, contact Sarah Watts-Rynard at
