Youth Apprenticeship Council

The Youth Apprenticeship Council brings together 11 young apprenticeship leaders from across Canada -from Yukon to Newfoundland and Labrador – to help shape the future of apprenticeship in Canada.

Council members are current apprentices representing a range of trades, regions, and lived experiences. Their perspectives ensure that the realities facing young trades professionals today help inform national conversations on apprenticeship.

Through the Council, members:

  • Provide input on apprenticeship policy and initiatives
  • Identify barriers facing youth entering and completing training
  • Contribute to research and national dialogue
  • Serve as ambassadors within their regions and sectors

By centering youth voice in discussions about apprenticeship systems, the Council helps strengthen connections between apprentices, employers, educators, and decision-makers across Canada.
