The Green Economy and the Skilled Trades: Youth Perceptions

Transitioning to a low carbon economy will create a significant demand for tradespeople to work on a variety of manufacturing, construction and energy projects.  Canada will need to train and certify more than 264,000 apprentices. Trades such as electricians, HVAC technicians and industrial mechanics (millwrights) will be central to the green transition. The green economy creates exciting opportunities for young people who care about sustainability and like practical applied work.
