Financial Barriers and Needed Supports in Apprenticeship Training
From April to July 2026, CAF implemented a national survey, sponsored by CIBC. Input was received from 2,275 apprentices and tradespeople. Half of the respondents were registered apprentices and came from a variety of trades. Consistent with the apprentice population in Canada, most respondents were men between the ages of 18 and 34 and were not from an equity group.
