Valard has grown from a small utility contractor into a premier Canadian utility construction company. Through strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and industry leadership, Valard has expanded nationwide, pioneering collaborations with First Nations and developing innovative service models. Valard Construction continues to lead the industry with large-scale infrastructure projects and a comprehensive suite of services, including distribution, transmission, telecommunications, and renewables.

A key driver of Valard’s success is its strong commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. By investing in the hiring and training of apprentices, particularly from local communities, Valard not only develops a highly skilled workforce but also strengthens relationships with the communities it serves. This investment enhances the company’s ability to deliver high-quality project execution, improve operational efficiency, and foster long-term employee retention. Additionally, prioritizing local labor and resources maximizes community contributions, creating lasting economic benefits beyond project completion.

In May 2023, Valard was awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for Hydro One’s Waasigan Transmission Line project in northwestern Ontario. This project involves constructing approximately 360 kilometers of new 230 kV transmission lines, strengthening the region’s electrical infrastructure and supporting economic growth.

With a deep commitment to excellence, workforce development, and sustainability, Valard continues to set the standard for utility construction in Canada and beyond. By investing in the future of skilled trades, we are not only shaping the next generation of industry leaders but also ensuring the continued success and growth of the communities we serve.
