Have a say in the system you’re part of.

The Youth Apprenticeship Council (YAC) brings together apprentices from across Canada to share real experiences, influence decisions, and help shape the future of apprenticeship.

This is a paid leadership opportunity for youth who want more than just “getting through” their trade.

What you’ll do

  • Join a national cohort of apprentices (12–20 people)

  • Take part in monthly virtual meetings

  • Attend one in-person national gathering (travel covered)

  • Help identify issues in the apprenticeship system

  • Contribute to a youth-led priorities report

  • Build leadership and advocacy skills along the way

Who should apply

You’re encouraged to apply if you:

  • Are 18–28 years old

  • Are currently an apprentice (or completed within the last year)

  • Want to improve the apprenticeship system

  • Can commit to monthly online meetings and one in-person event

Apprentices from equity-priority communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

What you get

  • Honoraria for your time
