Date: May 13, 2026
Join us for a member-exclusive conversation with Albert Netser, CEO of Arctic Fresh Inc., as he shares insights from the North on building skilled trades capacity in ways that are community-driven, culturally grounded, and results-focused.
An Inuk leader from Coral Harbour and a certified journeyperson linesman, Albert brings a unique perspective shaped by lived experience, technical expertise, and leadership in education and workforce development. Through Arctic Fresh’s work, he is advancing practical approaches to training, employment, and economic development that support Nunavummiut in building sustainable careers close to home.
This session will explore how locally designed training initiatives, rooted in Inuit values and community priorities, are strengthening workforce participation, supporting food security, and contributing to more self-reliant communities across Nunavut.
What you’ll learn:
- • Approaches to engaging and supporting Nunavummiut in skilled trades training
- • Promising practices for delivering community-based, culturally relevant training
- • How workforce development can align with broader goals like food security and infrastructure
- • Lessons for employers, training providers, and partners working to expand participation in the skilled trades
This is an opportunity to hear directly from a leader doing this work on the ground, and to reflect on how these insights can inform efforts across Canada.
